Client Comment

OCET enables us to take community engagement much further and really keep people informed on all site activity week-by-week and even by the day, whilst giving them a point of contact direct to our teams on site.

Online Community Engagement Tool

When it comes to community engagement, it’s not about who can shout the loudest, more who can utilise the various communication platforms to best reach their audience.

As communication specialists working for a range of sectors, we realise there is a need for companies to better communicate with the communities in which they operate. We have developed an Online Community Engagement Tool (OCET) that harnesses the latest capabilities of the web to do just that.

We also provide all of the associated off-line activities for community
engagement. These range from public meeting exhibitions and community
newsletters to PR, along with other initiatives to help drive traffic to the OCET.

Here are a couple of examples of how OCET is being utilised:

Planning - OCET On Side

As an aid to the planning process, OCET On Side engages with a much larger audience than can be found in the usual methods of public engagement. Online public engagement can assess the opinions of people who would not normally get involved in the consultation process and generate more positive feedback as a result.

By informing and capturing the views of the silent majority, developers can provide evidence of greater efforts to involve the community in proposals
and often that community's support as a result. All feedback is used to
automatically generate charts and statistics to demonstrate support
and opinions.

Construction companies - OCET On Site

For a construction company, OCET On Site provides them with a means to really keep communities informed of on-site progress, as well as any possible disruption to that community during the build period. It also allows local people to ask their own questions, so any specific concerns can be dealt with directly by the on-site team.

Just as the Considerate Constructors Scheme goes some way to improving the image of the construction industry, OCET On Site can help improve the reputation of individual companies within the communities they operate and beyond.
